A Liverpool porcelain "cabbage-leaf, mask head" jug, c.1780-85 by John Pennington, decorated with blue printed flower spray (Oil Bottle Sprays*) pattern. Dimensions: 16 cm. high. Unmarked. Excellent condition.

Philip Christian Liverpool Porcelain Teabowl and Saucer c.1770

A fine Philip Christian Liverpool Porcelain Teabowl and Saucer, c.1765-70, soft-paste body, fluted, moulded in relief with leaves and flowers and a border of foliate pattern. Painted in underglaze blue with a border of leaves and scrolls, the centre with a flower motif. Dimensions: teabowl: 4 cm high x 7.8 cm diam, saucer: 12.4 cm diam. Condition: a tiny nibble on the saucer. Unmarked.

A Rare Herculaneum Porcelain Plate c.1810-15

A Rare Herculaneum Porcelain Plate c.1810-15, the centre printed in black with an oval portrait of Mary Queen of Scots*,surrounded by a finely painted border of birds perched on scrolling leaves flanking tables laden with fruit, alternating with vignettes of sheep, a sleeping dog and a shepherd's hat and crock, gilded rim. Dimensions: 19.6 cm. diam. Condition: some ware in the centre.

* The same print appears on a creamware plaque, impressed HERCULANEUM , illustrated in "Liverpool Herculaneum Pottery" by Alan Smith plate 77.78.The source print was published by Thomas Cadell, Strand, 1 January 1788, after a painting by Zucchiro.

A John Pennington Porcelain Coffee Cup And Saucer c.1775-85, painted by "the dot rose painter" with a floral bouquet and sprays in coloured enamels, the rim decorated with a version of "Four bean" border, also used by Christian's and Seth Pennington. Dimensions: cup 6 cm high, saucer 12 cm diam. Condition: a faint hairline on the cup. Unmarked.

A Liverpool Porcelain coffee cup, teabowl and saucer, painted in "Cannonball Pattern" landscape, underglaze blue and "clobbered" with overglaze decoration in iron red and gilt, c.1770. Condition: A tiny nibble on the foot rim of the coffee cup and a 1.5cm. long hairline on the saucer. Unmarked.
